Top Chef 6 Finale

First off, this girl is amazing, almost as hot as Chelsea, and should probably receive the Congressional Medal of Nerd Freedom.

Now, let's talk about Top Chef Season 6. If you haven't seen the finale, you should probably stop reading now, because I'm going to spoil the crap out of it for you.

This was, at the end of the day, easily the best season of Top Chef ever. Obviously, the talent level was higher than it's ever been. I think if you put any of the top four from this season (Michael V., Bryan V., Jennifer, or Kevin) in any other season, they would have won EASILY. Maybe Blais and Stephanie from Season 4 could have given one of them a run for their money. But, the talent level was super-high. Kevin said it on the finale, and it's most definitely true, but any one of them could have won the whole shebang. I know some folks are pissed that Kevin lost because he was super-friendly, made really awesome, simple food, and has a pretty kick-ass pig tattoo. And yes, Kevin did kind of get screwed on the sous chef front when he got stuck with Preeti. With that said, Michael V. deserved to win. While he's had some spectacular failures throughout the course of the season, he's had some amazing successes too. The dude was, without a doubt, the most creative guy on the show.

Besides the fact that the contestants kicked ass this season, the show really stepped up it's game too. Except for maybe the cowboy challenge, there weren't a ton of silly dumb challenges, and there were a ton of really cool, high skill level challenges. I mean, the B'Ocuse D'or Challenge? How crazy awesome was that? And, unlike Top Chef: New York (which was easily my least favorite season of Top Chef) which failed to use New York City to it's fullest extent, Season 6 used the crap out of Las Vegas.

Oh, and let's talk about the judges. Thomas Keller? Are you kidding me! The best chef in the US was a judge this year. Not to mention all of the other stellar judges they used.

I think this was the season that Top Chef really fully transitioned from being a reality show featuring cooking to a Cooking show. This is not the Real World. This is not a show where people stop being polite and start acting real. This is a completely badass cooking show. My hope is that going forward, all future seasons of Top Chef will be able to live up to season 6.
